Pocopán Viewpoint
This viewpoint gets its name from a nearby house that used to be part of a fire lookout network. One of the house’s early owners used to say that his land offered “loads of wine but no bread”, for he grew vines and no wheat.
At 894 metres high, at the top of a hill, the area, still boasting wonderful vineyards, affords breathtaking panoramic views of Montes de Málaga Nature Park and some of the most iconic sierras and gorges in Málaga Province: Sierra del Jobo, Sierra de Camarolos, Sierra de las Cabras, Torcal de Antequera, and Tajo de Gómer and Tajo de Doña Ana, in Alta Axarquía.
The viewpoint can be accessed by way of the path from Las Contadoras to Jotrón, following a steep firebreak. If you are coming, mind the fence protecting the viewpoint from sheep.
