Municipal Archive (Culture Department)
An 18th Century building that was remodelled in the style of bourgeois 19th century architecture that houses the Archivo Histórico Municipal (Municipal Historical Archive) and a library. Exhibitions of various kinds are also held inside.
It was one of the first buildings erected on the Alameda Principal on land reclaimed from the sea. It has hosted the Provincial Court and University College and it was the first place where the University of Málaga was established. Málaga City Council bought it in 1995 and it was opened by the King of Spain to coincide with the V Centenary of the establishment of the Municipal Council of the City.
