Delegación del Gobierno de la Junta de Andalucía

The current headquarters of the Government Office of the Government of Andalusia is a beautiful building built in the 18th Century and remodelled in the 19th located on Malaga's Alameda Principal.

Its architecture is inspired by Italian neo-classical design and influenced by the construction of the Customs House, which was reminiscent of Italian palatial buildings. Some details on its façade resemble Florentine bossage.

As in other buildings of its time, it has long balconies that could be used for public events or celebrations. We should remember that, because of its location and character, the Alameda Principal is one of Malaga's main arteries. Also, at Easter, and other special occasions, it acquires special importance as part of the official route for Thrones and Brotherhoods.

The main balcony doors are topped by triangular pediments at the ends and by a curved one in the centre. The pediment is carved from marble. It has a lintel structure with two recessed pillars.

Once inside, you will discover a colonnaded courtyard where the main side consists of Tuscan columns supporting large wooden beams and the upper gallery supports. A catering business is located on the building's ground floor that still retains the appearance of an old Málaga tavern of the last century.
