The sounds of Málaga in summer: festivals you cannot miss in 2023

Contemporary music, classical music, jazz, flamenco, electronic music… This year’s festivals in Málaga are promising, offering the best line-up posters and music alternatives of today’s music scene

Every year, Málaga is home to numerous festivals that bring together artists of national and international prestige. However, these events do not come alone: it is also possible to enjoy art, gastronomy and even playground areas there, so that everyone can relish the atmosphere of the festivals.

Ohsee

A festival for everyone

The Oh, see! Festival returns to the Cortijo de Torres Municipal Auditorium in Málaga on 26 and 27 May. It is a 20-hour music festival with artists such as Dorian, Iván Ferreiro, Second, Rayden, Siloe, Wisement Project, Airbag Dis, Tali Carreto Dj, Don Fluor and Don Gonzalo Dj, among others.

All concerts take place during the day, they do not overlap and there are activities for all ages. In fact, the festival has the Oh, Kids! Area, where there will be workshops in which the little ones will become reporters, illustrators and dancers. Moreover, they will be able to meet some of the artists in person.

The event will also have a Gastro Area, with food trucks, and the Oh, See! Club, which will feature the best DJs in the country.

Enjoy classical music

From 29 May to 4 June, Málaga hosts the International Chamber Music Festival ‘Málaga Clásica’. This year’s theme is ‘Revoluciones’ (‘Revolutions’), as the festival will present different ruptures and changes in musical forms and languages, from the Baroque period to the 20th century, from Biber’s recreation of animal sounds in the 17th century to John Cage’s 4’33’’ composition.

The Echegaray Theatre will hold the first four concerts of this chamber, while the Cervantes Theatre will present the end of this event with works by Beethoven.
