Peñón del Cuervo Beach - Beaches

Peñón del Cuervo Beach

Peñón del Cuervo Beach

Located between El Candado Marina and Fábrica de Cemento, Peñón del Cuervo Beach takes its name from a rock formation forming an isthmus that divides the beach into two areas. Concerts and "moragas" (parties around a bonfire) are held on this beach. It is also equipped with a barbecue area.

It is 450 m long and has an average width of 25 m. Peñón del Cuervo is an important protected biological site because an endangered plant species, the Malaga houseleek (Limonium malacitanum), is endemic in the area.

Did you know?

"Moragas" are night-time parties held on the beach around a bonfire where sardine skewers are usually cooked. They date back to the 19th century and are connected with fishing. Today it is necessary to apply for a permit from the Malaga City Council to hold a "moraga" or barbecue on any of the beaches of Malaga, which can be done through the portal.
