Calder–Picasso is the first show in our country devoted to exploring the creative bonds between these two modern masters of the 20th century: the American Alexander Calder (1898–1976) and the Málaga native Pablo Picasso (1881–1973). While the dialogue between Calder and Picasso offers infinite possibilities, it is possible to find a vital connection in the exploration and use of the void, or the absence of space, which both artists explored in their work, from the figure to abstraction.
