Three Wise Men Parade

Every 5th of January, the city of Malaga celebrates the Parade of the Magi, one of the most popular holidays in Spain. It portrays the arrival of the Magi from the East to the city to hand out gifts to children.

Its origins in Malaga date back to 1923, the year when the city held the first procession with Melchior, Gaspar and Balthasar. Ever since, various local personalities have played the role of the Magi, who ride through the city on a float.

King Melchior is currently played by a communication professional; and King Gaspar is a senior brother in a Confraternity that belongs to the Association of Brotherhoods. Finally, Baltasar is played by a member of the Municipal Corporation.
