Other options during Málaga Fair

There is much more to do in Málaga during the August Fair than partying. If you want to explore other options during your stay in town, there are a few ideas here. All museums are open during the fair, so you can visit the exhibitions, learn about the city’s history and culture, and engage in special activities (check calendar).

Museo Casa Natal Picasso

This year, Málaga is playing host to the Picasso Celebration 1973-2023, offering a wide range of activities and events organised on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the death of Pablo Picasso. Check out the Picasso Celebration microsite to make sure you do not miss anything!

Gibralfaro

If you prefer to go sightseeing, the city’s landmarks are all open to the public on fair days: the Cathedral, the Roman Theatre, the Alcazaba or Arab Fortress, the Gibralfaro Castle, and others.

Playa La Malagueta

For a break on the beach, you can go to La Malagueta, which lies quite close to the city centre. It is the ideal place for a rest amidst so much partying. Palmeral de las Sorpresas and Muelle Uno are good choices for a stroll. Further afield, you can go to the beach in El Palo, Pedregalejo or La Misericordia.

Planes alternativos - El Soho

If you are into street art and signature cuisine, then Soho – aka “the Art District” – is the right place for you.
