The platform, which brings together the leading Spanish incoming agencies from this sector, has analysed the city’s prospects for this segment which is constantly evolving To coincide with this activity, the marketing specialists from the Department of Tourism will also take part in the Mahana International Trade Show for the first time.
There are extraordinary prospects for the incentives sector in the city of Malaga. This has been highlighted by the President of Spain DMCs, Juan Antonio Casas, who over the last few days has been in the city taking part in the 15th national assembly of the association, which brings together the leading Spanish incoming agencies that specialise in this sector.
“The assembly held in Malaga has surpassed every one we have held in the past thanks to the support of the Malaga Convention Bureau and the involvement of the city as a whole”, said Casas, who revealed what an enormous transformation Malaga has undergone as a destination for the incentives sector for the whole of Europe.
Over the course of the assembly, in addition to approving the association’s action plan for 2014 and its budget, various topics of interest and concern to the destination management companies from the incentives sector were discussed.
Additionally, those attending the general assembly were joined by internationally-renowned speakers with whom they took part in various debates on important matters relating to the activities of the DMCs.
To take advantage of the fact that these experts in the marketing and organisation of various types of business travel were in Malaga, Malaga City Council’s Convention Bureau organised a programme of visits and activities in addition to the activities already taking place at the general assembly. They were designed to show the many innovations offered by the city to host every type of corporate event. These are an important source of revenue for the city as a whole and not just Malaga’s tourism businesses.
Therefore, conference goers had the opportunity to take part in teambuilding activities with Malaga Cinema, they visited the city’s major monuments, they took part in wine tasting or they went on a boat ride around the Bay.
